hmm. we had out mock 2nd class on the 29/12. well. i felt we did not too bad compared to usual. but squadmates, we hafta jiayou! we can do it. our 2nd class would be on the 1st saturday of the new year. which is..lets see. 3/1/04. hmm. time 8am-1am. polish them boots and badges mates! (haha. slanging. hahahaha...)
2004 is coming soon! we will change for the better! 36 power all the way!

[ Bowling competition '03 ]
held by TCHS at OCC (orchid country club)
hmm..jolene and jaclyn were in my grp. and i dunno why..but weeloon put me as capt. so i was capt. each grp hadta pay 20 bucks...not inclusive of bowling shoes..rubbish lorh..
hahha. brought powder (Phew) and used 7 pounder ball to bowl.
the other teams were: siewfun (capt), wei li and huiqi / cheryl (capt), wei wen and litian
my bowling was much better than ytd! =) 64 (1st game) and a 75 (2nd game)
b4 the comp started, 35 ma'ams gave us marshmallows and chips. and at OCC they gave us this postcard with edited wrds on it. that was quite sweet. =)
cheryl's team got into the finals. haha. they all so pro one.. coincidentally all in the same team. nvm hope they win!!! =)

hmm..time to update!!
not sure why...but suddenly blogging is becoming a bore to me. haha.
well i changed the title of my blog... fom "CCA life.." to "keep the fire burning" hahah..the 1st name sounded a lil retarded. haha

[ Campcraft Team '04 selection ]
CT selection was held on 30/11, sunday. the day right before council camp. i reached school the earliest! the gate wasn't even opened yet!!
the shutters of the staircase leading to dongdong was down, so i just settled down outside the audi. wenqi ma'am was right behind me and then came in xiaowen ma'am. i was pretty scared, becoz 34 ma'ams stressed that it was going to be tough. when 34 ma'ams give PT, or when it was out CC prac test, they said it wasn't tough though we find it tough. this meant that CT selection would be really really really tough.
all of the toilets were locked except for the science block 1st level toilet closest to the guard house. the very one that is rumoured to have nao4 gui3. but we still changed in there lah. somehow, with squadmates, your fears seem to be gone. we meet up with 35 ma'ams and we went to collect the CC equipment and went to fall in at the campcraft plot there.
all of 34 ma'ams who were in CC team came. we were so happy to see them!! =). i was so glad to see her. some 33 ma'ams came, later other ma'ams from earlier batchs also came.
1st up was PT lah. it was really hiong. we ran to nearby KAP the overhead bridge there. all the way from school and back again. i was on the verge of alling out...thank goodness for squadmates and the encouragement of ma'ams. must thank them..esp. yanru ma'am, si hui ma'am, kai ling ma'am, madaline ma'am, jolene ma'am..and lots more.. haha, but i know yrm kept encouraging us..and it was that that really pushed me to my limit, and jac..she was always constantly checking on me and asking if i felt ok and blah, even though i hardly replied to any of her questions she kept encouraging me. thanks jac!! =)
the way to KAP seemed so long!! but the way back seemed much shorter. and i very pei fu some ma'ams. they cannot take it but still manage to run all the way back.
back at the campcraft plot, wanling ma'am lead in curcuit training. we did pumping, leg raisers, burpies. haha... i forgot how to do burpies liao..side track a bit...last time swimming lessons for the gold course ah, there was this activity. we swam the breath of the pool with 2 layers of pajamas on. first we start with no pajamas on, then each breath we swam, we put on one piece of clothing, and when all the pajamas are put on, we do the whole activity agn, this time, each breadth, we took off one piece of pajama. the whole activity must be completed in a certain amt of time, if not each second exceeded, haf to do burpies...
and thank goodness, the CT selection day, there was no sun!!! the ground was wet coz i rained heavily the night before. so we did burpies quite easy, coz a bit of sliding mah.. doing on hard ground is really tiring. then we did leg raisers. wah, my whole tee was caked in mud. haha. was a lil fun. =) wanling ma'am made us count in different languages. malay, cantonese, teochew, hokkien, chinese, english... then did more circuit trng..then we stopped and had a water break.. we chen4 ji1 cut twine coz we didn't cut twine at all the day b4 or what.... hahah..dunno why we didn't...i suppose coz we were instructed to bring one ball of twine each..so.... aiya..but i felt that we should have more common sense to cut twine..
haha, when we fall in, we were suppose to mix. then one ma'am said that she didn't want to see the same coloured person with another same coloured person. coz 35 ma'ams slacks tees are a different shade of yellow compared to us mah... then i found that sentence quite funny lorh, coz we are all brown coz of the mud, so we were all of the same colour actually!! hahaah.. ok..i know that was lame..
later, we were divided into groups and in my group was huiqi and wei wen and si hui ma'am and wenqi ma'am. it was a good team!! =) sihui ma'am and weiqi ma'am were bowliners and me and huiqi were verticals and wei wen was pegger. wei wen was so nice. both me and huiqi wanted to be verticals, so she was pegger lorh...even though she didn't want to be.. but in the end, we 2 felt bad, so we quickly oh-bei-som but wei wen still kena pegger, but this time in a fair-er way. haha. actually i didn't mind being pegger coz haha, yrm would be 'observing' me.. hahahah
so i was vertical with huiqi, and i was quite excitied about the pitch..dunno why...but felt that the ppl i was pitching with were great! =). sihui ma'am was tying guylines nearer towards my side of the tent and wenqi ma'am was tying the bowlines near huiqi's side.. the ground was very slippery, and sihui ma'am kept slipping, so whenever she ran past me, she would grab on to my arm/shoulder so that she wouldn't fall..hahah =).
i loved the window flap that i tied. all thanks to siewfun. during one of our squad practises, she help me master the tying window flap skill. hahaha. thanks ah! then i did it quite fast and neatly. i was really proud of that.
for our tent, all the guylines kept breaking. the twine was lan4 or smth. then every single guyline on the tent broke except for one strong one that managed to last. oh yes. the main guys also broke, and it broke near the top, where the micky mouse (curf hitch at the dolly) was. then the broken off part was too short to be re-connected with the longer part, so wei wen helped me and we both bo-bian, we re-did another mickey mouse above the outer sheet, when it was supposed to be inside lah.. hiax.. but both sihui ma'am and wenqi ma'am gave us a lot of encouragement when our team wassnt doing well..meaning all the twines breaking and blah. wei wen pegged so fast man. very very fast. =) i think overall our team wasn't too bad, except for the twines breaking.. we were the last outta the 3 tents..
then was specialization. there were many stations and we were divided into groups. i was in the same team as debbie ma'am and liu lu, and angela ma'am joined us later. i was so angry at myslef. i totally freaked out when i was told to tie A.B.U. ahh..was so mad at myself. coz debbie ma'am is the one who taught me during Campcraft course, and yet, under her eyes... i flopped. urgh. then we proceeded to other stations..... and for pegging, there was two ma'ams to report to. yanru ma'am and elaine ma'am. haha 1st up was me and liulu.. liulu gave me a wink and immediately went to report to elaine ma'am..leaving me with...yrm!!!! =) haha. thanks ah liulu. wahah.
after specialization was lunch, then the interview. the rest of the day after lunch was spent slacking. hahah. one by one we went for interview. CC team '02 were the interviewers. they interviewed each one of us at the podium there, when i reached there, a ma'am said: "zhong1 yu3 shi4 lui's de4 turn liao"..haha
i have a habit of looking at the person who is talking to me or telling me something. the first few questions were from woon ee ma'am and amanda ma'am and wei na ma'am..all at the right hand side..so i always look there. yanru ma'am was sitting at the middle. sitting near her was elaine ma'am and xiaowen ma'am, wanling ma'am..etc. then xiaowen ma'am asked me why don't i look at her side there. got 'mei1 nu3' some more. refering to yrm lah.. then i felt so paiseh lorh..don't there to look there. then wei na ma'am asked me what i can contribute to the team. she said she didn't want to hear ans like 'morale lah.. etc' so i said i could contribute 'motivation' then ma'ams laughed, saying that morale is the same as motivation. then woon ee ma'am said that by saying that i am implying that wnm english is lan. then they all laughed...and i was like trying to dig a hole and bury myself. then wem asked, what i wanted to be, and i said either bowliner or vertical for tent. then she said what if she posted me to pegger. then before i could answer, she said "iya she liddat also happy, her shi1fu4 is there what" (in chinese). hahha. found that funny. then there was another time where i wanted to bury myslef. ma'ams asked me to rank these things in order: studies, family, friends, other commitments, NP, DALT, CT team. i think that was all. then i read 'other commitments' as 'other comments'. so i asked what was 'other comments' and they all laughed and asked whose handwritting was so bad...but it was actually me lah..read wrongly..
when i was not being interviewed, then we were slacking lorh..
anyway 4 sqdms got into CT. this yr CT got 11 ppl. the four are: xinyi, cheryl, weiwen and zuojin..
35 ma'ams got 7 ppl: kai ling ma'am, sihui ma'am, jolene ma'am (capt), xiaowei ma'am, jiaying ma'am (vice capt), chailing ma'am and wenqi ma'am.
hope CC team will do well this yr. jiayou!
